ANSES at the 2023 Paris International Agricultural Show

Animal health: It’s our health too!

#SIA2023

The health of animals, whether on farms, as pets or in the wild, is in the spotlight on our stand for this 2023 edition of the Paris International Agricultural Show (SIA). Come and talk to our scientists about diseases that affect animals or that may be carried by them, good practices in the use of veterinary medicines, resistance to antibiotics, breeding practices and animal welfare, and the impact of climate change on animal health. These are issues that concern us all !

Taking animals into account, their health and well-being, also means protecting our health. It is this "One Health" approach that ANSES wishes to highlight this year at the Paris International Agricultural Show.

Many scientists - researchers, specialists in risk assessment, experts in veterinary medicine - will be present to share their knowledge on animal health issues and the complex interactions between the animal world and humans.

The programme will cover a variety of subjects that concern us all: the emergence of potentially zoonotic diseases, the circulation of viruses and bacteria between animals and humans, interactions between wildlife and livestock, diseases transmitted by ticks and mosquitoes, animal welfare, the proper use of veterinary medicines, antibiotic resistance, etc.

We look forward to seeing you from 25 February to 5 March 2023! We will also offer a number of activities to find out what you can do to promote both animal health and our health.

Our SIA stand programme for 2023 includes:

  • A quiz titled "How to take care of your pet?"
  • A workshop to learn more about ticks, how to protect yourself from their bites and the diseases they can transmit.
  • Meetings with our specialists in animal diseases, insect vectors, animal breeding practices and veterinary medicine.
  • Discover "Agent tous risques", a serious game to play online : slip into the shoes of a scientist faced with a new and alarming animal disease.
  • A recruitment area to find out about jobs and careers at ANSES.
