The French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) and the French Research Agency (ANR) are pleased to invite you to their second scientific conference on endocrine disruptors (EDs).

With outbreaks of dengue fever, chikungunya and Zika in the French overseas territories and a growing number of cases reported in metropolitan France, mosquito vectors of pathogens have become a major public health challenge for all of France.

ANSES is organising its 10th science day dedicated to the health of bees and pollinating insects. Beekeepers, researchers, public decision-makers, companies, and journalists are invited to discover the latest scientific breakthroughs relating to bees and exchange views with the speakers. The programme for the day includes: the results of the European PoshBee project, on the detection of pathogens and the effects of chemical and nutritional stress on wild bees, the threat posed by the small hive beetle (Aethina tumida) on Reunion Island, the contamination of beeswax by plant protection products and veterinary drug residues. Societal aspects will be highlighted, with an introductory conference looking back at how bees have been perceived throughout history. Socio-economic studies will also be presented, on the regulatory and institutional contexts of bee health protection and the sharing of floral resources between beekeepers.

ANSES holds the final meeting of the One Health European Joint Programme (OHEJP). The meeting will be an opportunity to look back on the work conducted during the five years of the OHEJP. It will be held at the French Ministry of Health and Prevention on the 11th (afternoon) and 12th (morning) of September and will be broadcast live.

ANSES participates in the Fête de la science (France’s annual Science Festival) held from 6 to 16 October 2023.

Come and meet our scientists at the International Livestock Trade Fair (SPACE) to be held in Rennes from 12 to 14 September 2023.

ANSES, as the French scientific assessment agency for food and nutrition, has offered to host the 7th edition of the IMEKOFOODS conference, which will be held from 25 to 27 October 2023.

Air, whether it is outdoor air or air in enclosed environments, is likely to be polluted by numerous contaminants. Research is essential to provide the scientific knowledge needed to assess health risks and support actions to improve air quality. On 6 June, ANSES and the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME) are joining forces to organise a scientific meeting on this topic. This conference will be devoted to the work that the two agencies are carrying out or funding to characterise exposure to air pollution, to explore its effects on health and to improve air quality. During the conference, ANSES will report on the results of the National Plan for Research on Environmental and Occupational Health (PNR EST) on this subject. Each of the following themes will be the subject of a session of scientific presentations: Exposure in transport and in cities Occupational environments Indoor air quality Micro-sensors and participatory sciences This event will be held in person and remotely.

Animal health: It’s our health too! #SIA2023 The health of animals, whether on farms, as pets or in the wild, is in the spotlight on our stand for this 2023 edition of the Paris International Agricultural Show (SIA). Come and talk to our scientists about diseases that affect animals or that may be carried by them, good practices in the use of veterinary medicines, resistance to antibiotics, breeding practices and animal welfare, and the impact of climate change on animal health. These are issues that concern us all !
